Streetscape Open House
The Township of Springfield
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
For approximately two years a group of residents, business owners, Township officials and consultants have been working to create a Streetscape Master Plan for Bethlehem Pike to further advance certain concepts developed in the Flourtown-Erdenheim Vision Plan. In addition to creating a unified identity and sense of place for the Flourtown and Erdenheim Villages, the goals of the Master Plan include improving the streetscape and public facilities for pedestrian safety and comfort, providing a general blueprint for public and private investment along the corridor, and providing a resource for future grant opportunities.
Utilizing an $800,000 grant from the Federal Highway Transportation Administration, the Township hopes to begin implementation of certain streetscape amenities later this year. These improvements include sidewalk reconstruction and curb ramp installation at prominent intersections, decorative crosswalks, ornamental street lighting, and landscaping.
While the Streetscape Master Plan and construction documents for the upcoming project were created by representatives of the community, the Board of Commissioners would like to invite you to attend an Open House on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Springfield Township Building to review the plans and meet the consultants and streetscape committee members who helped design the improvements for Bethlehem Pike.
This invitation is being provided to you as the owner of record for a property located within the Flourtown and Erdenheim Villages designated in the Master Plan. If your property is occupied by a business or individual other than the owner of record, please feel free to notify them of the Open House.
